KAMLOOPS β€” Kamloops RCMP responded to approximately 355 public complaints from Friday (Jan. 20) to 9 a.m. on Monday (Jan. 23). Below are some incidents police attended.

Columbia Street West break-in

RCMP are investigating a break-in that saw tools, vehicles, and other items stolen from a business.

Police received the report of an overnight break-in at a business on the 800-block of Columbia Street West Friday morning.

A stolen Ford Explorer and a stolen Ford Ranger were recovered later that morning and examined by the Forensic Identification Service Unit.

Bear spray assault

Kamloops RCMP are investigating an assault on the North Shore involving bear spray over the weekend.

Officers were called to the 700-block of Tranquille Road early Sunday evening after an employee had been assaulted with bear spray after asking a man to leave the store.

The suspect is described as a white man wearing brown pants and a black Reebok hoodie.

Fire hydrant struck

Kamloops RCMP are looking for witnesses and information related to a vehicle that reportedly crashed into in a fire hydrant in Sagebrush.

Officers responded to the 700-block of Fraser Street early Sunday morning where a newer, silver four-door sedan reportedly crashed into a yard and struck a fire hydrant, causing water to pour onto a property and into a house.

Police say several people described as youth, likely in their teens or 20s, were seen getting back into the car before it drove away. It’s believed to have front-end damage.
