Jurassic World: Dominion, shot near Kamloops, earns nominations as one of the worst films of 2022

KAMLOOPS — A high-profile motion picture, parts of which were shot on location in and around Kamloops, has been nominated for several Razzies. The Razzies, also known as the Golden Raspberry Awards, are awarded for the “worst in film” just prior to Academy Awards.

Jurassic World: Dominion received three Razzie nominations, including Worst Screenplay and Worst Remake/Rip-off/Sequel. Bryce Dallas Howard, daughter of famed director Ron Howard, was nominated in the Worst Actress category for her performance in the film that one critic dubbed “the worst Jurassic film yet.”

Razzie winners receive a statue of a raspberry perched atop a reel of 8mm film and spray-painted gold, purported to be worth $4.97 by the founders of the event.

Sylvester Stallone has been recognized ten times by the Golden Raspberry Awards, the most by any actor. For the full list of nominees for the 43rd annual Golden Raspberry Awards, you can click here.

Despite the quality of the final product, Jurassic World: Dominion star Chris Pratt seemed to enjoy the experience of filming in the Kamloops area. And also despite its quality, the filmed grossed more than $1 billion worldwide, according to Variety.
