Body recovered from Thompson River in Ashcroft

ASHCROFT, B.C. — Ashcroft RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service are investigating after a body was recovered from the Thompson River Monday (Jan. 16).

In a brief news release, the RCMP note the body was discovered at about 9:00 a.m., about 200 metres south of the Ashcroft Bridge.

Search and Rescue volunteers helped RCMP members pull it from the water.

There is no word if the person’s death is considered suspicious.
