Circuit failure cuts power to more than 1,300 B.C. Hydro customers in Westwold, Falkland

FALKLAND, B.C. — A series of power outages has hit the Highway 97 corridor between Kamloops and Vernon.

B.C. Hydro’s website shows three separate outages affecting a stretch of properties between Barnhartvale and the Falkland area, including Westwold.

In total, B.C. Hydro says about 1,300 customers are without power.

The outages began at about 10:15 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 10) and are due to a transmission circuit failure.
