One dead in two-vehicle crash near Jade Mountain Tuesday

CHASE, B.C. — UPDATE (4:35 p.m.): Drive BC says the road has re-opened to single-lane, alternating traffic.

EARLIER: One person has died in a crash east of Chase Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 3).

Cst. Mike Moore of B.C. Highway Patrol says the crash took place on the Trans Canada Highway near Jade Mountain between a semi truck and a pickup truck.

Moore says the highway will be closed in both directions for a matter of hours while investigators are on scene.
