Police cruiser rammed on North Shore

A police vehicle is out of service due to a crash on the North Shore early Monday morning.

RCMP say an officer was travelling southbound on Fortune Drive at around 1 a.m. when he was t-boned by a Toyota Corolla that was turning left. Police say the Corolla allegedly drove over a centre median and into the marked police vehicle.

No one was injured in the collision, but both vehicles required a tow.

Impaired driver in Dallas

RCMP say an officer saw a truck idling in a parking lot on the 5000-block of Dallas Drive early Saturday morning.

Upon further investigation, RCMP say the officer ran a sobriety test for the driver, who had their vehicle impounded.

Police say they also seized small bag of suspected fentanyl.

Stolen trailer out of Juniper returned to owner after fraud incident

RCMP say they received a report on Saturday of a person trying to insure a trailer they purchased online.

Police say the vehicle identification number on the transfer papers was hard to read and could not be found in the insurer’s registry.

RCMP later confirmed the trailed was stolen from Lupin Court between Dec. 3 and 5 and was returned to its rightful owner. The person who purchased the trailer was a victim of fraud.

Anyone with information related to the fraud or theft investigation is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP.
