Airlines report numerous cancellations involving YKA flights Sunday

KAMLOOPS — Airport traffic nearly came to a halt in Kamloops Sunday (Dec. 18).
According to WestJet’s flight status online, two departures from Kamloops Airport (YKA) to Calgary were cancelled – 6:05 a.m. and 4:40 p.m. – while the early afternoon flight at 12:29 p.m. arrived. WestJet’s one Sunday flight from YKA to Vancouver departed.
WestJet arrivals were also tricky. While the morning flight from Calgary and the one flight from Vancouver arrived, two flights from Calgary to YKA – 4:16 p.m. and 11:42 p.m. – were cancelled.
Elsewhere, on its flight status online, Air Canada reported five cancellations involving flights from YKA to Calgary, five for Calgary to YKA, two from Vancouver to YKA, and one from YKA to Vancouver. Air Canada cited “bad weather” for the cancellations.
