Would-be robber beaten back by Kamloops homeowner
KAMLOOPS — A homeowner in the Valleyview area of Kamloops successfully fought off a bandit who had broken into his garage last weekend. RCMP say the homeowner caught an individual in his garage Friday (Dec. 9) and confronted him. After a brief tussle, the suspect fled from the garage and along a nearby walking path.
Police arrived just after 6 p.m. at the home on the 5000 block of the East Trans Canada highway. A dog team tracked down a flashlight and some tools used to break into the garage, but the suspect got away.
Police are looking for a man between 5’ 10″ to 6′ 0″ tall. He is believed to be between the ages of 35 and 45. He was dressed in dark clothing and was wearing a balaclava.
