WolfPack’s Agyekum taken 8th overall in Canadian Premier League draft

KAMLOOPS — A little over a month after the TRU WolfPack Men’s Soccer team took home the USports National Championship trophy, one of the top players on the team has been selected in the Canadian Premier League’s USports Draft.

Defensive Midfielder Akwasi Agyekum, also known as Junior, was taken 8th overall by Atletico Ottawa.

Agyekum was the MVP of the National Championships in Kamloops and played a key role in shutting down opponents’ top players for TRU.

The second-year player from Calgary is the second WolfPack player to get the nod in the CPL Draft after Jan Pirettas was picked 3rd overall back in 2019.
