Two arrested in Kamloops following report of stolen vehicle in Lillooet
KAMLOOPS – Two people have been arrested and taken into custody following a crash on the North Shore of Kamloops this morning (Dec. 14).
According to an RCMP news release, a stolen Lillooet vehicle was spotted during a routine patrol this morning near 2nd Avenue and Lansdowne Street. RCMP officers followed the Sunbird to the North Shore and attempted to make a traffic stop.
Police say the driver of the vehicle took dangerous actions behind the wheel to initially evade officers. However, the strategy didn’t work for long according to RCMP spokesperson Corporal Crystal Evelyn. “The vehicle was located shortly after on the 200-block of Schubert Drive, where it crashed into a barricade and its occupants fled on foot.”
With the assistance of a police dog unit, two suspects were taken into custody quickly.
