Poilievre tells Tory caucus to stand for the ‘common people’ in pre-holiday message
OTTAWA — Pierre Poilievre told his Conservative members of Parliament today that it’s their job to stand on the side of “common people.”
He delivered the message to the Tory caucus in Ottawa as the House of Commons sitting winds down and MPs get ready to return to their constituencies for the holidays.
In his speech, Poilievre painted of a picture of a Canada that is hurting and told his MPs it’s their job as the Official Opposition to transform that hurt into hope.
He repeated his attacks on Liberal government spending, which he says is driving up inflation, and its efforts to ban “assault-style” weapons, a list the Conservatives have panned because it includes popular hunting firearms.
