Salvation Army still searching for kettle campaign volunteers
KAMLOOPS — After the provincial government reversed course last week to allow the Salvation Army to set up its kettle campaign outside of B.C. Liquor Stores, the Kamloops Salvation Army branch has been scrambling to find volunteers. When they were told they couldn’t operate at liquor stores, the organization moved all of its volunteers to different locations in the city.
That left more than 100 open shifts to fill when the reversal came down last week. Some volunteers have swapped back to their normal liquor stores spots, but that as well has created more holes across the city.
Cory Fifield said the organization is still looking for people to fill two-hour shifts throughout Kamloops.
