RCMP Stuff the Cruiser event returns Saturday in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — The annual RCMP Stuff the Cruiser event is back this Saturday (Dec. 10) outside of the Royal Canadian Superstore in Sahali. The fundraiser will run from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. so Kamloops residents to ensure their spot on the nice list by making a donation to charity.

Kamloops residents will be tasked with stuffing an RCMP cruiser full of Christmas toys, gift cards and cash donations. Despite the hard financial times, Cpl. Crystal Evelyn is hoping Kamloops will open their hearts to the cause.

“It always impresses us how generous residents in Kamloops are. We are asking them to please reach into their hearts again and think about those teenagers and kids who will be getting an extra special Christmas because of that assistance,” said Evelyn.

The Christmas presents and gift cards will be delivered to Christmas Amalgamated so they can be distributed to those who need them most this holiday season. While any gift is welcome, one of the biggest areas of need this year is for the older kids, according to Evelyn.

“It always is tough to find people to donate gifts especially for those teenagers or older kids, the ones who are 10 or 11 and aren’t really playing with little toys anymore. It’s still good to have a nice Christmas,” said Evelyn. “All the donations collected — it can be cash, it can be gift cards, it can be toys or other purchases. Especially if you have a teenager and know what they are interested in, that’s a good opportunity to drop something in.”
