KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say a large police presence in Upper Sahali Saturday (Dec. 3) was due to concern a person experiencing a mental health crisis may have been armed.
Police were called to a home on Springview Place at about 11:45 a.m. Saturday.
“Due to the reported presence of firearms at the residence, multiple officers attended and were able to convince the person to safely exit the home,” said Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.
After a short standoff, the subject of the call was taken into custody. Evelyn says the individual was taken to hospital for treatment.
