Nearly 10 centimetres of snow expected for Shuswap: Environment Canada

SALMON ARM, B.C. — A snowfall warning is in effect for the Shuswap region from Monday (Dec. 5) night until Tuesday (Dec. 6) afternoon.

In a statement online, Environment Canada says periods of heavy snow is expected for the Shuswap – along with eastern sections the North Okanagan. The weather agency predicts nearly 10 centimetres of snow for the Shuswap.

It’s due to an arctic front moving across eastern B.C.

Period of heavy snow is expected tonight and on Tuesday.

Motorists are told to be prepared to adjust their driving with changing road conditions as rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult on surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots. Environment Canada adds visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
