KAMLOOPS — The Mustard Seed is kicking off its 12 Days of Giving campaign in Kamloops next week.

From Dec. 12 to 23, the Seed says it will ask for “city-specific donations” to help those experiencing homelessness and poverty this holiday season.

The items per day are:

  • Dec. 12 – winter gloves/mittens
  • Dec. 13 – thermal wool socks
  • Dec. 14 – toques/hats
  • Dec. 15 – hand warmers
  • Dec. 16 – mylar blankets
  • Dec. 17 – men’s and women’s small size underwear
  • Dec. 18 – long thermal underwear
  • Dec. 19 – travel-size lotions/lip balm
  • Dec. 20 – adult backpacks
  • Dec. 21 – women’s hygienic products
  • Dec. 22 – travel-size toiletries
  • Dec. 23 – nail kits/hairbrushes/combs

“This is a very difficult time for many in our vulnerable community,” Kelly Thomson, Mustard Seed managing director says. “They are separated from family and feel that they have no hope. It is important that we talk with them and offer them hope for a better future. Their book is not fully written, they can escape the drugs and street life if they want to, and we are here to help with that.”
