Christmas Amalgamated Kamloops sees disruptions in service as phone lines are down

KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops staple, Christmas Amalgamated has been operational in the city for 45 years.

In 2022 during the holiday season when the program is needed most, Sally Whitson with Christmas Amalgamated says their phone lines are down.

This is causing disruptions for Whitson and her crew trying to do their job helping those less fortunate have a Merry Christmas.

Christmas Amalgamated helps provide presents and food hampers to Kamloops residents for the holiday season.

Whitson says their phone line has been down since the start of the operation this year, and it’s been hard on them and people accessing the service.

“It sure does make it hard on people, not just us, it makes it hard for people who want to try to find us and apply, and even the people who want to find us how do we let them know where to find us?”

Whitson reminds people the service is still vital for locals and you can visit her and the team Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Christmas Amalgamated is located in the “Wings above Kamloops” building, behind the Tim Hortons located on Windsor Avenue near Eighth Street.
