LANGLEY — The Kamloops Blazers lost a nailbiter in the second game of a back-to-back series against the Vancouver Giants.

Kamloops played in Langley Saturday looking to improve their winning record but left with a loss.

In a tightly fought battle, the Blazers fell to the Giants 6-5 in a shootout after beating them 3-0 the night before.

The back-and-forth affair throughout the game saw goal after goal by each squad with no team holding a lead for very long before the other seemed to answer.

After 60 minutes it was all tied up at five goals a piece, overtime was needed, and when no winner was decided by that, it went to a shootout.

The Blazers missed both of their shootout attempts while the Giants scored twice in a row to close out the game.

This loss brings the Blazers’ record to 13-5-3-2 while improving the Giants’ to 10-11-3-2.

The Blazers are now on a Vancouver Island road trip as they get set to play the Victoria Royals on Tuesday.
