KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP responded to approximately 394 public complaints from midnight Friday (Nov. 25) to 9:00 a.m. Monday (Nov. 28). Below are some incidents police attended.

Merritt man on warrant arrested downtown

A Merritt man wanted on a warrant was arrested in downtown Kamloops after he was attempting to defecate at a parking lot downtown Friday night.

RCMP say an officer patrolling the 400-block of Lansdowne Street interrupted the attempted bowel movement and found the man to be intoxicated and acting erratically.

Police say the man was wanted for drug possession and mischief.

Stolen truck located on North Shore during break-in

An alarm at a construction site on the North Shore led RCMP to finding a stolen truck with break-in tools inside.

Officers responded to the 2000-block of Ord Road at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday where a security company saw a man on its property attempting to get into sea cans.

The man was arrested and released. A stolen truck with a damaged ignition was also found.

Bear spray assault at Sahali business

RCMP say a woman released a can of bear spray near a store’s entrance on the 1200-block of Summit Drive Saturday at around 3:00 p.m., indirectly hitting an unknown person.

Police say the store’s staff had previously removed the woman for allegedly stealing beforehand.

The woman is described at 5’2” with a slim build and light pink hair, dressed in a dark jacket and dark hoodie overtop a white shirt.

Anyone with information related to the suspect or the person hit by the bear spray is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP.
