Kúkpi7 Rosanne Casimir to be one of 14 new recipients of Order of British Columbia
KAMLOOPS – Tk’emlups Kúkpi7 Rosanne Casimir will be officially appointed to the Order of British Columbia Thursday (Dec. 1) night.
Casimir will be one of 14 British Columbians to receive the order in 2022, along with former Attorney General of Canada Jody Wilson-Raybould, soccer star Christine Sinclair and former B.C. Attorney General Geoff Plant.
The Order of British Columbia is the highest form of recognition the provincial can give its citizens. The Order is given to any British Columbian or former long-term resident who has “demonstrated outstanding achievement, excellence or distinction in a field of endeavour benefiting the province or elsewhere is eligible to be nominated.” Fields of work or service may include community leadership, business, labour, industry, art, sports, volunteer service, professions or other occupations.
