KAMLOOPS — Santa Claus and his helpers will make their way downtown to bring joy and cheer to all in the yearly event that sees Jolly Old St. Nick stroll down the streets celebrating the Christmas spirit.

The 42nd annual Santa Parade will hit downtown Kamloops once again and this year’s theme is a Pyjama Party.

Everyone is invited to join in on the joyous event presented by Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association (KCBIA) and Thompson Rivers University (TRU) on Sunday (November 27).

“Kamloops loves this event and we want to make sure it’s a cherished time for families and all Kamloopsians. The Pyjama Party theme will add another fun element, and the lights at dusk make the event such a spectacle. We anticipate filling up fast, so register early. Thanks so much to TRU. This event couldn’t happen without their generous community support,” says KCBIA Executive Director Howie Reimer.

The parade festivities will start shortly after 4:00 p.m. with a special “wake-up Santa,” followed by the parade at 4:30 p.m.

Kamloopsians will be able to catch the parade floats that start at 2nd Ave & St. Paul Street, that go down 2nd Avenue to Victoria Street and along Victoria Street ending at 6th Avenue.

TRU added that the holiday event hopes to bring cheer and smiles to everyone Sunday.

“The holiday season is so important to so many people. It’s a chance for all of us to get together with family and friends, and with each other as community neighbours. Events like the Santa Parade bring people together in celebration,” said Brian Daly, TRU’s Vice-President of University Relations.
