Weekend for Kamloops RCMP includes youth robbed, business break-in, and firearms seized

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP responded to approximately 327 public complaints from midnight Friday (Nov. 18) to 9:00 a.m. Monday (Nov. 21). Below are some incidents police attended.

Youth robbed in Sahali

A youth was threatened and robbed of his backpack and phone by two men in the 900-block of McGill Road early Friday afternoon.

The first man was described as in his late 30s and wearing red snow pant, while the second was described as having a mask on.

RCMP say officers patrolled the area, but the suspects weren’t found.

Firearms and ammunition seized downtown

An officer conducted a vehicle stop at Third Avenue and Seymour Street at around 3:50 a.m. Saturday.

RCMP say the officer saw contraband tobacco and detained the driver under the Tobacco Act. As part of the investigation, suspected illegal drugs, a loaded firearm and ammunition were also seen.

The suspect was released with conditions and a court date.

Hillside robbery

RCMP were called to a business on the 1000-block of Hillside Drive Saturday night for theft and weapons report.

Police say they attended the store at around 9:50 p.m. where staff reported dealing with a suspected theft, where two suspects reportedly produced a knife and ice pick before fleeing on foot.

Aberdeen break-in

RCMP are investigating after keys, laptops, and computer monitors were stolen from a business on the 1400-block of Pearson Place early Monday morning.

Officers responded to the break-in report at around 2:00 a.m. where they saw the front door damaged.

The Police Dog Service Unit assisted in searching for a suspect, but no one was located.
