Western Canada Theatre brings in new executive director from Calgary
KAMLOOPS — Western Canada Theatre (WCT) has its new executive director.
In a news release issued Monday (Nov. 21) morning, WCT’s board of directors says Leslie Biles is the new executive director effective immediately after previously serving as vice president of operations at Arts Commons in Calgary. WCT says Biles has experience in venue operations, capital project management, and strategic and operational planning, along with having served numerous volunteer roles.
“WCT has a reputation for being a dynamic, inclusive, and sustainable company with a strong track record of creating outstanding new Indigenous and Canadian works. I am eager to build on these successes and advance the next phase of growth,” Biles states. “As we come out of these challenging times, I very much look forward to championing the relationship between arts, culture, and community and helping to contribute to the great quality of life in Kamloops.”
WCT says Biles and James MacDonald – WCT’s artistic director – will work to carry out its new organizational strategic plan.
