Pacific system to bring heavy snow to Cariboo, North Thompson, and Shuswap regions
KAMLOOPS — Drivers in the Cariboo, North Thompson, and Shuswap regions are being warned of heavy snow Monday night (Nov. 21) and Tuesday (Nov. 22).
According to a special weather statement from Environment Canada this morning, around 10 to 15 centimetres of snow is expected due to an intense Pacific frontal system that will move across B.C.’s Interior. Light snow is expected to intensify in the regions later Monday night, creating near zero visibility on the roads, before tapering off to a few flurries Tuesday evening.
Additionally, a highway alert is in effect for the Trans Canada Highway from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass during the same period.
As of Monday morning, Environment Canada forecasts nearly two centimetres of snow for Kamloops after midnight and around five centimetres Tuesday.
