TK’EMLUPS — Tk’emlups RCMP made an unexpected discovery when officers recovered a stolen vehicle this week — a lonely puppy.

In a news release, Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet says officers were alerted to a break-and-enter at about 7:00 a.m. Monday (Nov. 14).

Owners of a business in the 1400-block of Chief Louis Way say the inventory of what was taken include:

  • 2022 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup
  • White box trailer with “Residential & Commercial 2lb Spray Foam Insulation” and “250-819-2991” printed on the side
  • Three dirt bikes (2018 blue Yamaha, 2020 red Honda, 2019 red Honda)
  • Six sets of vehicle tires
  • Various tools associated to the business

Later Monday morning, RCMP tracked the truck to a home in the 2000-block of Pinantan Pritchard Road, finding a puppy inside. Two men in the residence told police they didn’t know anything about the truck or the pup.

“We are asking anyone who has knowledge of ownership of this puppy, who appears to a Rottweiler cross, to contact us,” said Shoihet in the release. “The male puppy was wearing a red, harness at the time of his rescue and has been taken to a safe place until we can identify his owner. As well, we are seeking any information related to the location of a trailer and three dirt-bikes.”
