Weekend for Kamloops RCMP includes man hit by a train and nation-wide warrant arrest

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP responded to approximately 463 public complaints from midnight Friday (Oct. 28) to 9 a.m. Monday (Oct. 31). Below are some incidents police attended.

Man hit by train downtown

RCMP are investigating after a man was struck by a train at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police say the man, who was sent to hospital by ambulance from Third Avenue and Lorne Street, is in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing in conjunction with the Canadian Pacific Railway Police.

Man arrested on nation-wide warrant in Kamloops

A North Shore traffic stop led to the capture of a man wanted on a Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) warrant.

RCMP say an officer directed a stop on a rental car near Fortune Drive and Simcoe Avenue Sunday at around 2:40 a.m. They recognized the man to be wanted on a nation-wide warrant.

The man was arrested to be transferred to the CBSA.

North Shore vehicle impounded

A vehicle on the North Shore was impounded after it was found with two unconscious people in it.

RCMP say they assisted ambulance at the 800-block of Tranquille Road Sunday morning where a woman was unconscious in the driver’s seat, and the vehicle was set in reverse.

Police say both occupants were woken up without medical assistance.
