Blazers fall 5-3 to league-leading Ice Friday

KAMLOOPS — In a battle between the visiting Winnipeg Ice and the Kamloops Blazers, the Ice came out victorious 5-3 Friday (October 21) night.

The league-leading Ice dominated the scoring in Friday’s win throughout the first two periods leading 4-1 heading into the final frame.

Kamloops did its best attempt at a comeback in the third, scoring back-to-back goals to cut the Winnipeg lead to one.

The comeback attempt was not enough as Winnipeg’s Carson Lambos scored the Ice’s fifth goal of the game with less than eight minutes to play.

The Ice win improves their record to 10-1-0-0 and drops the Blazers’ record to 5-2-0-1.

Kamloops currently sits in the fourth seed in the western conference while the Ice top the eastern conference in the first seed.

The Blazers are back in action Saturday (October 22) facing off against the visiting Prince George Cougars at the Sandman Centre.
