KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops man is facing a series of charges after an alleged theft and assault at a North Shore business Wednesday (Oct. 19).

In a news release, RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says RCMP were called to the 300-block of Tranquille Road Wednesday at about 2:00 p.m. Two people told officers they were assaulted after chasing a theft suspect out of a store.

“An officer observed an image of the suspect, then conducted patrols in the area,” said Evelyn. “Shortly after, on the 100-block of Yew Street, the officer located a bike matching the description of the one used by the suspect, followed by the suspect nearby.”

Facing two counts of assault with a weapon and a single count of theft under $5,000 is Jeffrey Ernest William Trump, 36.
