UPDATE (9:15 a.m.): Kamloops RCMP say a suspect is in custody after allegedly fleeing from the transport truck that crashed into a Columbia Street property Tuesday morning.

In a news release issued Tuesday morning, police say the semi truck crashed through a front yard and into a house. Additionally, police say numerous vehicles on the roadway were struck and badly damaged, but no one was injured.

Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says the portion of Columbia Street remains closed as they conduct a criminal investigation and ensure the roadway is safe for travel.

Anyone who witnessed the crash, or has dashcam or security footage of it, is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP.

EARLIER: KAMLOOPS — Kamloops drivers are asked to avoid Columbia Street between 12th and 13th Avenue on their Tuesday (Oct. 18) morning commutes.

Cpl. Crystal Evelyn told CFJC Today there was a collision involving a semi-truck with vehicles loaded on it at around 4:20 a.m.
