Pedestrian killed in downtown Kamloops collision

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are investigating a collision that killed a pedestrian downtown Saturday evening (Oct. 15).
In a news release issued Monday (Oct. 17) morning, Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says the collision happened at around 7:18 p.m. in the 200-block of Victoria Street West. A truck travelling westbound struck a man in his 40s who was attempting to cross the street.
Evelyn says the victim was taken to hospital but died a short time later.
Police say they have surveyed the scene, spoke with witnesses, and collected video footage. Evelyn says the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
