Familiar face Ranta returns to the mayor’s chair in Cache Creek

CACHE CREEK, B.C. — John Ranta is returning to the mayor’s chair in Cache Creek.
After the votes were tabulated Saturday (Oct. 15), Ranta (39.2 per cent) had defeated incumbent Santo Talarico (24.1 per cent). Councillors Wendy Coomber (21.7 per cent) and Annette Pittman (14.9 per cent) finished third and fourth, respectively.
Ranta was a former long-time mayor of the community. He was defeated by Talarico in 2018. Coomber and Pittman served on council in the past term.
Sue Peters was the only incumbent councillor to run for re-election, and was re-elected.
