Final reminder: where Kamloops residents can vote and what they need

KAMLOOPS — It’s the home stretch for the 2022 municipal election in Kamloops.

BC Transit says transit will be free for residents on general election day – Saturday, Oct. 15.

There are 16 locations for voting between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.:

• Aberdeen Elementary School – 2191 Van Horne Dr.
• Arthur Hatton Elementary School – 315 Chestnut Ave.
• Arthur Stevenson Elementary School – 2890 Bank Rd.
• Beattie Elementary School – 492 McGill Rd.
• Brocklehurst Middle School – 985 Windbreak St.
• Dallas Elementary School – 296 Harper Rd.
• Dufferin Elementary School – 1880 Hillside Dr.
• Heritage House – 100 Lorne St.
• Juniper Ridge Elementary School – 2540 Qu’Appelle Blvd.
• Lloyd George Elementary School – 830 Pine St.
• McArthur Island Sports and Event Centre – 1655 Island Parkway
• NorKam Secondary School – 730 12^th St.
• Rayleigh Elementary School – 306 Puett Ranch Rd.
• R.L. Clemitson Elementary School – 5990 Todd Rd.
• South Sahali Elementary School – 1585 Summit Dr.
• Valleyview Secondary School – 1950 Valleyview Dr.
• Westmount Elementary – 745 Walkem Rd.

To register to vote in British Columbia, Kamloops residents must be a Canadian citizen, 18 years or older, a B.C. resident for the past six months, and not disqualified from voting.

Voters will need to provide their name, date of birth, address and one of the following pieces of identification:

• B.C. driver’s licence
• B.C. Identification Card
• last six digits of Social Insurance Number
• last six digits of Personal Health Number

Only mail-in ballots returned to Kamloops’ chief election officer by 8:00 p.m. on general voting day – Saturday, Oct. 15 – will be counted.

Outside city limits, residents in the Thompson Nicola Regional District can find voting stations for their respective electoral areas in an interactive map online.
