KAMLOOPS — It’s October 12 and the B.C. Wildfire Service (BCWS) is extending open burning prohibitions for the Kamloops Fire Centre.
In a news release, BCWS officials say that is a good indication of how unseasonably warm and dry this fall has been in the B.C. Interior.
Category 2 and 3 open burning prohibitions are now in place until 12:00 noon on October 28. The bans had been set to expire on October 15.
In addition, prohibitions cover fireworks, sky lanterns, burn barrels and binary exploding targets.
