SPOKANE — The Kamloops Blazers are in the win column after a 4-2 win over the Spokane Chiefs.

Following an at-home loss to start the year on the wrong note to the Portland Winterhawks, the Blazers bounced back in Saturday’s (October 1) game in Spokane.

Visiting the Chiefs, the Blazers came out hot to start off the game scoring just two minutes into the game on a power play goal from Connor Levis.

Matthew Seminoff notched his first goal of the season shortly after to give Kamloops a 2-0 lead to end the period.

Caedan Bankier added a goal in the second frame to lead 3-0.

After an Ethan Brandwood goal, the Chiefs’ Grady Lane and Cade Hayes responded late in the third period but it was too little too late for Spokane.

Dylan Ernst stood tall in the win for the Blazers as he made 33 saves on the night.

The Blazers are back in action on October 7 as they return home for a few games against the Victoria Royals.
