City to update traffic signal optimization for series of Hillside Drive intersections

KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops says timing improvements are coming for a series of traffic lights along Hillside Drive.
In a release issued Wednesday (Sept. 28), the City says updates will be put into place this fall for five intersections from the Pacific Way/Hillside Drive intersection, down to the Walmart shopping complex.
The last optimization for traffic signals along Hillside Drive took place in 2015, and the updates are meant to reflect more recent traffic patterns at this intersections. The City says it will aim to reduce delays and improve the flow of traffic.
Signal retiming might require some tweaking once in place, and the City adds that drivers may experience some congestion along their daily route while those adjustments are worked out.
