RCMP seize large amount of cash and drugs in downtown Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — More than $5,000 in cash, 50 grams each of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine, and five cell phones – that’s what Kamloops RCMP say they seized during a vehicle stop to check a driver’s sobriety and license at Columbia Street and Sixth Avenue in Kamloops Monday (Sept. 19) at around 8 a.m.
Three adult men – two from Kamloops and a third from Celista – were arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Police say they were released on scene as part of the investigation.
“When we consider the potential lethality of fentanyl and the other controlled substances seized during this traffic stop, investigations such as these play an important role in keeping toxic drugs off the street and preventing overdoses, allowing users more time to seek help with their addictions,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says.
Anyone with information related to the drug seizure is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP.
