Kamloops’ Olynyk joins fifth NBA team — the Utah Jazz

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Kamloops’ own NBA star Kelly Olynyk is on the move.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, the big man has been traded from the Detroit Pistons to the Utah Jazz.

Forward Bojan Bogdanovic goes the other way, with guard Saben Lee joining Olynyk in Salt Lake.

Olynyk, 31, is entering his 10th season in the league. Utah is his fifth team, after Boston, Miami, Houston and Detroit. His current contract expires after the 2023-24 season.

The Gonzaga alum averaged 9.1 points-per-game and 4.4 rebounds-per-game in 40 games for the Pistons last season. His season was shortened by a knee injury.
