Two Kamloops men charged in 2021 stabbing
KAMLOOPS — Two 21-year-old Kamloops residents were arrested and charged with aggravated assault after a stabbing in downtown last summer.
In a news release issued Thursday (Sept. 15), Kamloops RCMP say the two were brought before a judge and released with conditions and a court date.
“Following the investigation and subsequent charge recommendation and assessment process, the BC Prosecution Service approved charges and arrest warrants were issued for two people on Sept. 1, 2022,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says. “The accused parties turned themselves into police on Sept. 7 and were arrested without issue.”
The charges stem from June 27, 2021, at around 2:40 a.m. when a man arrived at the Battle Street police detachment with several stab wounds, including to his back and shoulder. RCMP say the man was injured while he was at a nearby party on the 600-block of St. Paul Street.
