Kamloops man charged in alleged sexual assault of female youth

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are appealing to the public for more information following an alleged sexual assault of a female youth.

In a news release issued Thursday (Sept. 15), RCMP say 38-year-old Guy Purcell of Kamloops has been charged with sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching and uttering threats.

“Police are releasing a photo of Purcell in order to further the investigation and identify anyone who may have additional information in relation to this alleged sexual assault, or any other interactions that they may have had with him,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says.

Purcell is described as a white man with brown hair and blue eyes, standing 6’1” and weighing 165 lbs with an athletic build.

“We want to encourage parents to share Purcell’s photo with their kids as we know that children are not necessarily monitoring mainstream media, and the investigation to date leads police to believe Purcell may have had unreported dealings with other youth,” Evelyn adds.
