BARRIERE, B.C. — The District of Barriere knows who its mayor will be after the Oct. 15 election — but the council election is wide open.
Ward Stamer will be acclaimed mayor as the only candidate to put their name forward by the Sept. 9 deadline. Stamer defeated Mike Fennell for the mayor’s position in 2018.
No fewer than 13 candidates are vying for the six council seats.
They include all six incumbents: Judy Armstrong, Alan Fortin, Scott Kershaw, Rob Kerslake, Donna Kibble and Amanda Sabyan.
