Area restriction for Evergreen area near Heffley Creek extended

KAMLOOPS — The province is extending an area restriction for the Evergreen area north of Heffley Creek.

In an update Friday (Sept. 9) morning, the Kamloops Fire Centre says the Area Restriction Order will remain in place until Sept. 30 unless otherwise extended or rescinded. The order was originally set to expire Friday.

The order applies to Crown land within the boundaries indicated by the map below. People are prohibited from entering or remaining in the restricted area unless they have written permission from the province or are acting travelling through.

The Kamloops Fire Centre says the restriction is in place in order to limit the threat of wildfire.
