RCMP dog tracks wanted man in Valleyview
KAMLOOPS — It may be International Dog Day, but working dogs are not taking a holiday.
RCMP police dogs helped sniff out a wanted man in Valleyview Friday (Aug. 26) morning, according to a news release from Kamloops RCMP.
Just after 8:00 a.m., officers responded to a call on Crescent Drive for a report of a suspicious man who, according to the concerned caller, had been sitting at the location. When the cops showed up and discovered the man had a warrant for failing to comply with a court order, he ran into the bushes off Highland Road.
An officer and his police dog, Neeka, tracked the suspect in the bushes, and he was taken into custody without incident.
