Boil water advisory issued for parts of Cariboo Regional District
WILLIAMS LAKE — A boil water advisory has been issued for all water customers in Lac La Hache in the Cariboo Regional District (CRD).
Recent samples reportedly show the presence of Coliform in the public drinking water. Coliform is a type of bacteria found in the digestive tracts of animals, including humans but can make a person sick from ingesting it.
“Interior Health has been notified and the CRD is working to find the source of contamination and fix the problem, which may include disinfecting the system,” the release reads.
To protect yourself, the CRD says to use purchased bottled water or boiled water for drinking, brushing teeth, dishwashing, preparing food, and making ice.
