KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP responded to approximately 412 public complaints from midnight Friday (Aug. 12) to 9:00 a.m. Monday (Aug. 15). Below are some incidents police attended.

Burnt vehicle found on Trans Canada Highway

A truck was left burnt on the side of the Trans Canada Highway east of Peterson Creek Bridge early Saturday morning.

RCMP say they contacted the owner of the blue Ford Ranger, who stated he had gotten it stuck sometime after 2:00 a.m. and left it there. He found the vehicle burnt when he returned in the morning.

Anyone with dash cam footage or information related to the investigation is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP.

Man arrested after being found with stolen items from Dufferin home

A man was arrested Sunday morning after police found him on a bike that was reported stolen this weekend.

RCMP say they received a report of a break-in on Saturday on the 1300-block of Prairie Rose Drive in Dufferin where the suspect reportedly entered an unlocked vehicle, then used a remote key to enter a garage. A bike, sunglasses and a backpack were stolen.

An image of a suspect was captured on video and distributed to other officers.

The items were returned to their rightful owner and RCMP anticipate charges for the man following the investigation.
