NorthPaws fall 17-2, swept in brief playoff series
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops NorthPaws’ inaugural season has come to an end.
The Paws were blown out by the Wenatchee AppleSox on the road Wednesday night (Aug. 10) 17-2, losing their best-of-three West Coast League playoff series 2-0.
Ty Sifferman opened the scoring for the NorthPaws in the top of the first inning, hitting a triple to the gap in right-centre field then coming home on a throwing error by the AppleSox. That would be as close at the NorthPaws would come.
Noah Or hit a lead-off single in the fifth inning, advanced to third on a single by Brandon Luna, and then came home as the AppleSox turned a double play to score the NorthPaws’ final run of the season. Kamloops’ baseball club wrapped up their inaugural campaign with a 26-27 record in the regular season and a 0-2 record in the playoffs.
