NorthPaws blown out 12-1 in first playoff game
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops NorthPaws’ first ever West Coast League playoff game did not go according to plan.
The Paws were blown out by the Wenatchee Applesox 12-1 Tuesday (Aug. 9) in front of nearly 1,200 fans at Norbrock Stadium.
After two scoreless innings, the Applesox erupted with 11 runs: a three-run third inning, a three-run fifth inning, and a five-run sixth inning.
Mike Fitzsimmons scored the Paws’ only run of the game. He hit a single up the middle, advanced to third on a single, and then ran home when the Applesox lost the ball in the dirt attempting to catch NorthPaw Félix Chénier-Rondeau stealing second.
