LYTTON, B.C. — Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the Fraser Canyon area, which includes Lytton and the site of the Nohomin Creek wildfire.

Daytime highs near 35 C and overnight lows of around 18 C are expected until Tuesday (Aug. 9).

“A ridge of high pressure building over B.C. will bring high temperatures to the region … today through Tuesday,” says the warning. “Above seasonal daytime temperatures and elevated overnight temperatures will mean little relief from the heat.”

Environment Canada says temperatures should be back to seasonal norms by Wednesday or Thursday.
