Keremeos Creek wildfire now more than 5,900 hectares in size

KEREMEOS CREEK — A wildfire 21 kilometres southwest of Penticton has grown to 5,903 hectares.
The fire that was discovered on July 29 has continued to grow throughout the past week.
According to the BC Wildfire Service, on the northeast flank, crews were challenged by winds in the area and are working on building contingency lines.
Crews will be using Direct Attack methods from Green Mountain Road to Keremeos Creek Forest Service Road in an attempt to contain the blaze.
