KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP responded to approximately 524 public complaints from midnight Friday (July 29) to 9 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 2). Below are some incidents police attended.

Valleyview stabbing case

A man was taken to hospital with an apparent stab wound after an alleged assault in Valleyview Sunday night.

RCMP say officers provided first aid at a residence on Peter Road until paramedics arrived. The man was treated for his injuries and later released from hospital.

Police say a woman was arrested and released with conditions and a court date.

Drugs and weapons seized following downtown wellness check

Baseball bats, a knife, cash, and suspected illegal drugs including fentanyl and crystal meth were seized following a wellness check in downtown Kamloops.

RCMP say they responded to the 100-block of Lorne Street Sunday afternoon for a report of a man inside a running vehicle, slumped over in the driver’s seat.

Officers found the man responsive, although police allege he was found impaired after a sobriety test. His vehicle was towed and impounded for 24 hours.

ATV robbery on the North Shore

An ATV was stolen from a North Shore backyard just before midnight on Friday.

RCMP say a homeowner on the 900-block of Selkirk Avenue was letting their dog out when they interrupted someone stealing their green Artic Cat Mud Pro 700.

Police say the suspect loaded the ATV onto the deck of a black Chevrolet pickup truck before fleeing. A red ATV was also observed on the truck.

Anyone who witnessed the robbery, or has video or information related to it, is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP.
