Rocky Mountain Rangers raise flag above Kamloops Airport
KAMLOOPS — The Rocky Mountain Rangers is a primary reserve unit within 39 Canadian Brigade Group. They were started in Kamloops in 1908 and through two World Wars, they have called the city home.
“This initiative was first started and the reason for it was to build the relationship and the bonds between the citizens of Kamloops and their regiment, the Rocky Mountain Rangers. We definitely need to get out there more and do more for the community, in my opinion, and I believe that we are doing that,” said Sgt. Tyrone Carter.
On Wednesday (Aug 3) morning, the Rangers camp flag was raised high above YKA as the regiment also erected a new sign to ensure everybody coming into Kamloops knows it’s storied history with the Rangers.
